Sound Card

I don't really know much about sound cards, but I'm going to get one to go along with this new headset I'm getting for my birthday. http://astrogaming.com/products/detail/3/A40_Audio_System/
Anyways, I don't really know what to look for in a sound card, but I need one that fits in a PCI-E x1 slot or a normal PCI slot and below $100, and I figured at least one of you knew more about sound cards than I do, so halp meh!
Also, which color should I pick for the headset, white or black? I can't decide...

Nice sound card, is there any real quality difference between PCI and PCI-E x1?
Also do you know if it works well with Vista?

And those headphones are nice, but double the cost of the ones I'm getting, a bit too expensive for my taste

lol was just reading about the headphones...

They are cool but i hate when a company says it has pinpoint 5.1 surround lol.. Specially when you dont even have a input that can carry 5.1 surround.. a standard PC speaker jack? lol that can only carry a 2.1 speaker signal...

Not trying to talk bad about the product or discourage it in anyway.. just personal things i hate seeing.. lol

Yea, those Senn headphones are overkill. But back to the sound card.

I don't have any personal experience with that exact sound card Mook. However I have had 2 X-Fi Sound Blaster cards and have been very impressed with them. I liked that card because of the following...

24 bit digital sound (best available)
192KHz sample rate (best available)

So the question is, "How much better are the $200 cards compared to this $100 card?" Well, the answer is a couple more bells and whistles and slightly higher output. Worth double the price, imo no. However, the super top of the line sound cards will give you a slightly better sound.
