I wasnt able to post this in the Warfist Games section, so I'm posting it here.
Just an idea I came up with a couple minutes ago.
Gladiator:
Groups of X amount of players band together to fight off large amounts of mobs.
Implementation:
Multiple players (not in the group) rounds up as many mobs as they can, mounted, so not dealing damage, and brings them back to the group that is competing. That group then does a little AOE, a little something to change the aggro from the mounted, not participating player to the group that is competing. The group that can survive through the most amount of enemy mobs without being completely wiped out wins. How we organized prizes in the past was that each team entered the pool with 500 gold, something like 10 teams, 5000 gold. The winning team takes the pot and distributes it, each player gets 1000 gold, obviously.
This worked in WoW very well because a group of higher level warriors could build up their rage on a single mob then Piercing Howl (aoe slow shout) kite the mobs to the group. We organized it with PvP as well, seeing how well an organized group of 5 in a proper class setup could survive against, say, 10 healers, or 10 mages, or 10 mixed melee dps and ranged dps. I dont know how much we are going to converse with Order though. Anyone know if I can whisper an order character or is the language barrier the same as in WoW?
Roaming 5v5:
This was an event that we organized back on Arthas server in Pre BC WoW. It's basically just like an arena tournament, each team of 5 would register (we would usually get about 30 teams on each faction side) and the team who won the most games would win. The differences are that you dont have a queuer, there are no ratings and the "arena" is different each time.
Basically, you need both factions to work together in order for this to happen. Each side forms their teams, and gets put on a list. The organizers of the event choose a zone, and each team groups up and travels to that zone. Then, mounted, each team travels around until they meet another team, and when they do they unmount and fight. Other teams -CANNOT- interfere or they would be immediately disqualified, but they can watch. When the really good fights would happen, something like 5 or six spectator teams would stand to watch the match draw out. No consumables. No buffs outside what your class make up provides.
It was a very, very fun way to build community aggression, a way to get to know and pummel the alliance. In order for it to work, teams would have to disperse themselves over the zone, because obviously if it just turns into a cluster the whole organization gets screwed over. Also, because we are Warfist, we can organize a zerg at the end of the tournament, having every destruction team band together and completely wipe out the Order teams because they dont suspect it and are looking for 6v6 fights instead of massive WAAAGH's.
