| 1. If you want to nuke, be a nuker. If you want to tank, create a tank. You are the only healing class on the Destruction side that doesn’t require a balance of damage/healing to be ideally effective. Take this as a sign of your true destiny and calling.
2. Willpower is a healer’s EVEYTHING. Make sure you HAVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN GET.
3. In PvE, stay close to your group. In RvR, stay within the outer perimeters of your group but don’t lag too far behind or with the casters. Your tanks may not have the time (hp) to run back for their heals, nor will they have the time to run back if you tag aggro at a 100 feet out. Stick close to those that are going to keep you alive.
4. All your tactics should revolve around healing.
5. All your morale should revolve around healing. Don’t waste them. Use them when someone is about to die, or the extra boon to health is going to keep everyone alive in a critical situation.
6. Cover your group first. Cover the war band second. Cover the stragglers on sight, and when you can. Your group is watching your back. It’s a chance if anyone else is, and you don’t want your group responsible for the aggro/attention you’ve drawn healing someone else.
7. Forget about "polite" healing/buff requests, thank you’s and other expressions of gratitude. There’s no time for it in battle, and besides, it’s your job. If you don’t love it, do something else. The reward is internal in that you know you’re good at what you do. Still, feel free to ignore people that PISS you off (and get a great ToK title too!).
8. Make sure everyone in your group has an active and appropriate Mark. Make sure they know which ones can be used against the enemy. Restore Marks that have been used. Check often.
9. Use your debuffs, harbingers, and knock backs. They'll keep you alive longer if you're getting attacked than your self-heals will and give your tank a chance to get to you (and hopefully a few more heals their way too).
10. If you’re going to die, try and think about your ideal rez situation. That is, run to a safer area where someone can tag you. Standing around, trying to heal yourself and dieing surrounded by a circle of reds is going to make it difficult for another rezzer to bring you back. Try and tag as many HoTs and insta-heals as you can before you go.
